Seaturns exploits the perpetual movement of waves

Seaturns exploits the perpetual movement of waves

Value Proposition
Seaturns is the reliable solution to harness wave energy.

Solution
A cylindrical system for wave power recovery with a nominal capacity of 200 kW.

In Short
Wave energy has long attracted interest. Swell is a continuous motion in many parts of the globe, but has so far been difficult to harness due to the harsh marine environment.

Seaturns has developed a technical solution that revolutionizes the way this energy is harnessed, solving the economic equation that has until now made wave energy devices non-competitive.

The stakes are high, as this innovation alone could generate 10% of the world's electricity.

Project Details

What problem does it solve?
Wave energy is a vast, global, and decarbonized resource, estimated at around 1000 GW. Today, this resource remains untapped, even though it could significantly reduce CO₂ emissions from global electricity production.

How is it solved?
Based on an innovative anchoring system and water pendulum, our technology reshuffles the deck in the wave energy field. The movement of the swell creates a continuous airflow that powers a turbine and generator. Simple and robust, our technology has the potential for global deployment.

Who are the potential clients?
Our solution meets a wide range of electricity needs, from MWh to TWh. It targets major electricity providers, energy-intensive industries, local governments, and off-grid areas.

What makes this solution different?
Our technology allows multiple production systems to be installed on a single anchor. This lets us meet all energy demands while remaining competitive and minimizing impact on the seabed. Our system offers a favorable power-to-weight ratio and stands out for its robustness and simplicity. It is operational on a wide variety of sites around the world.
