The money we receive is used 50% to pay our teams responsible for research and the promotion of innovations, and 50% to invest in technologies/innovations. Of this 50%, part of it is invested in the development of the "Pareto Eco" project, the NGO's digital platform for promoting eco-responsible banks.
See https://pareto-eco-project.org for more information.
We exclude innovations that do not show proven value, but unlike banks or investors, we can decide to use the donations made by our community to support projects deemed "too risky" by investors due to being "disruptive."
We do not choose the projects to invest in.
The projects will be analyzed by an independent scientific advisory board, after ensuring that each expert and scientist has no conflicts of interest. Then, the projects are documented and submitted to the association's members, who will vote in the most informed manner possible.
48 Volts is the internal program name of the NGO. This program includes several projects, one of which is the opening of a shared factory, for which we have not yet determined the location. The shared factory 48 Volts represents the largest budget for its implementation: at least €20 million of the €30 million needed for the first 3 years of financing. This project will only be started once we have reached a certain financial base. The Metaverse project will be delivered beforehand, and we will launch the "Bus 48 Volts" if we manage to find the continuous decarbonized innovation that allows a bus to run on 48 Volts!
No. We believe that this requirement limits innovation, as not all entrepreneurs and projects already engaged follow this approach. Furthermore, it can also close the door to certain investors: an open-source approach may hinder the valuation of a company, and we want investors to have a real return on investment, proportional to the risk they take with us. Therefore, we are more inclined towards intellectual property, patent filings when relevant. If the Open Source model is crucial for deploying an innovation, then we recommend it to the entrepreneur.
Our team is French, distributed between France, Luxembourg, and soon, Switzerland, when we begin work on the ICO (see Pareto Eco project at https://pareto-eco-project.org).
We all work remotely until the delivery of the shared factory in 2028-2029. Therefore, we do not have any physical offices and do not plan to have any. The legal structures will be created in France in 2025.
